Wake
Part 3
pages 160-210
Janie figures out that Cabel was actually only acting weird because he works with the police to catch drug busts, Janie ends up working with Cabel as well because she can see the drug dealers dream and figure out where the drug dealers hide their stash and the book ends happy with Janie and Cabel being together and going to the same collage.
I think that the way it turned out was expected but still cute. I love it when things all work out for the best even if it is kind of cheesy. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the trilogy because I love Janie and Cabels love story.
I connected with the part of the book where everything turned out okay, bad things always seems to happen to me but after series of traumatic events, my life seems to always find an equilibrium.

Wake
part 2
Pages 86-158

Janie works at a nursing home, one of her favorite elderly people dies suddenly but leaving Janie 5,000 dollars and a note that reads "dear Janie, thank you for my dreams, from one catcher to another, Martha Stubin. She doesn't understand the note. Janie still does not forgive Cabel for lying to her and puts all of her focus in to figuring out how to work dreams so she can help the people in the dreams she falls in to. But after Cabel finds a way to get to her, she forgives him and they become a couple.
I think that Janie was right to forgive Cabel, everything turned out to be a huge misunderstanding. Cabel has cared for her all along he just tends to make bad decisions at the wrong time. I like how Janie is putting all her thought in to Dreams while still saving time to have a good relationship with Cabel.
Once again, I can't relate to much in this book, but I can kind of relate to Janie putting all her thought in to something shes passionate about. I do that a lot and it never seems to turn out good because I let all other things kind of slide through the cracks. But I become a bit obsessed with things I love to do.

I have decided to reread my favorite trilogy, reading one book each week for three weeks.
Wake part 1
1 hour
pages 1-86
First I would like to say that if I read a book more than once I must really like it because I almost never do that.
This series is about a girl named Janie who falls in to peoples dreams and can't get out, seeing what everyone dreams of. Shes had to live her whole life with this disability and hasn't told anyone because her mom is a huge alcoholic and her father is not in the picture, suddenly she meets a guy named Cabel who seems to understand her, and help her with her problem. She falls for Cabel but he becomes unfaithful and lies to her. so now they are no longer speaking.
When I first picked up this book two summers ago I thought "hmmm, It would be pretty cool to be able to see peoples dreams" but after reading the book it just sounds terrible. No matter who is dreaming, or when they dream Janie is helpless. Her body goes numb and she looses control of what she is doing.
The only way I think I can connect with this story is that, I tend to figure out things about people that I wish I didn't know, not because I can "see peoples dreams" but because people tell me things. Not all of them are bad, but I just wish I didn't know so much about my friends,

I'm getting in to a habit of pulling out old books from my bookshelf that I haven't read in a while, it makes me remember the times when I read the books. but that's not why i'm writing this.
I pulled out My Louisiana Sky by: Kimberly Willis Holt (my favorite author of all time) I love the character Tiger because she always seems to know what she wants to do, and she wants to be somebody. She wants to get out of her small town in Louisiana and move to Baton Rouge. That kind of reminds me of how as soon as I can I plan to move to New York, I love Texas but it's not for me. On my vacation to NYC this summer I fell in love. That's where I see myself and I can't help but think of Tiger Ann Parker from My Louisiana Sky following her dreams and living with her aunt in a big city.

Last night I decided I was going to pick up a book I read last year called Love Sick about a girl with Bulimia. I decided to read this one in particular because we just finished a short unit in dance about eating disorders.
I flipped to the first time the writer describes binging and purging, I don't know what forces girls to think that the only way to make themselves feel better is to force themselves to throw up. I mean sure, I struggle with my weight, almost every girl in america hates their body because were surrounded by fake, photo shopped masterpieces that don't exist and create a false reality. But what I'm learning to comprehend is that, no I may not be what every girl wants to be, but I'm happy the way I am and doing anything like making myself throw up would make me lose weight, but I wouldn't be happy. So I'm just going to stay the way I am and learn to love what I have(:

While reading an online article called Never Been Kissed Michigan (of which I read because I am a 13 year old girl and things like kissing interest me) One quote really stuck out to me, "I have concluded that pursuing a guy is much like being an expert military strategist." this of course made me laugh out loud because of how true it really is.
The article is all about a girls journey to get her first kiss, it is a 9 part blog and this one was the last one in the series. She spends so much time trying and trying to get Spencer to notice her but then at the last minute her english teacher swoops in in front of her and he walks away. I really enjoyed this article because of the realness of it.
Back to the quote from above, I LOVE this quote. In order to get any guy I want to even notice me I feel like I have to make 20 step plans and three fourths of the time that doesn't even work! Comparing pursuing a guy to being an expert military strategist is something I never would have thought of but totally agree with.
